<p>Scientists warn that young women (irrespective of figure type) should necessarily watch their food allowance, if they wish to remain harmonious and at later age.</p>
<p>Non-smoking women at the age of 40 years, which had no problems with figure, took part in testing. Within 3th years experts observed of their daily food allowance. Then ladies passed an inspection, and it appeared that many of them gained excess weight, but not all.</p>
<p>Women who limited themselves in food and tried to adhere to classical rules of healthy nutrition, did not gain superfluous kgs. Scientists advise that it is never late to pay attention to your diet and work over your figure.</p>

<p>If you want a healthy skin, it is important for you to have a healthy diet- a diet which contains adequate amount of vitamins, minerals and proteins. Balance is the key word. No single diet is responsible for building up or maintaining the skin- so fad diets, which over-emphasize one food in preference to others can actually deprive you of essential nutrients and so may even harm your body and skin.</p>
<p>Moreover, there are a lot of misconceptions about the effect of certain foods on your skin. It is not true, for instance, that eating chocolates, sweets or rich cakes will give you spots. Neither is it true that eating greasy, fried foods will give you a greasy skin or make your hair greasy.Nor can it be guaranteed, that if you fill yourself with cucumbers, grapes, carrot juice or lettuce you will acquire a beautiful, flawless complexion. Some people have even come out with extraordinary claims, suggesting, for example, that salads will dramatically change your appearance and to develop a perfect skin you must take vitamin and mineral supplements.  All this to my mind is humbug.Although there is no denying that you must take a varied and a balanced diet, it is equally important to remember, that the single most important factor in determining the beauty of your complexion is heredity and that your eating habits play only a very small part in it.</p>
<p>However, if your diet is grossly deficient in certain elements, then the skin can develop problems. In people taking normal balanced diets this does not happen. But after severe illness, surgery and in people who are on crash diets, problems might occur.</p>
<p>With gross nutritional deficiencies, as occurs in severe illness of any type, the skin becomes dry and dark.The lips become sore, the hair falls, and the nails develop ridges and may even get discolored. The feet becomes edemas.</p>
<p>Vitamin A is very important for the health of your skin and eyes. The richest sources of this vitamin are cod-liver oil, liver, carrots, spinach, milk and egg-yolk.If the diet is lacking in this vitamin, the skin becomes excessively dry and develops pimples. Vision at night becomes defective. But remember, neither should you overdose yourself with Vitamin A, because this can cause dryness and roughness of the skin, falling of the hair and soreness of lips. Cracking and soreness of lips also develop in vitamin B deficiencies. Liver, meat, milk, greens, pulses and cereals are rich sources of vitamin B, Vitamin C, found in all citrus fruits, is also needed for the health of your skin.</p>
<p>Apart from vitamins, your diet should also include minerals.Iron makes the blood healthy-consequently it imparts a healthy pink glow to your skin. Iron is found in several green vegetables, in fruits and in meats. Zinc is also very important for the health of your skin.</p>
<p><strong>Beverages And Skin</strong></p>
<p>Many beverages can actually harm the skin. Alcohol and coffee cause the small blood vessels, under the skin surface to widen. This results in the familiar flushed look. Though, the effects of both alcohol and coffee are initially only temporary, excessive drinking will cause permanent widening of blood vessels making them apparent as thread veins. There are also several other causes of thread veins: heredity, effects of the sun, a highly spiced diet and extremes of temperature. You can&#8217;t help inheriting your genes, but you can certainly avoid the other factors to retard the appearance of thread veins.</p>
<p><strong>Food Allergies And Skin Problems</strong></p>
<p>Foods often play an important role in causing, at least, two types of skin problems-hives and eczemas. Although, there are several types of eczemas which are not due to food allergies, &#8220;atopic eczema&#8221; is frequently its resultant. Certain food stuffs, such as milk, eggs and preserved foods are most likely to cause allergies. A person may also be allergic to more than one food stuff.Often a number of hours elapse before the reaction occurs; so it is quite a problem to identify the culprit. Luckily, most people outgrow their food allergies and it is really not always necessary to look very carefully for the causative agent.</p>

All the food you eat is a source of energy and can fatten you, but some foodstuffs are more fattening than others. For instance, fats are more fattening than both carbohydrates and proteins. Calories are a simple way to measure, how much energy and how much fattening potential your foods contain. Foodstuffs differ in their caloric content because of two reasons: Firstly they contain varying amounts of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates and secondly, they contain different amounts of water, an ingredient which truly has zero calories. Similarly the energy you spend when working or exercising can be measured in calories. So the simple basis of a &#8220;calorie control&#8221; diet would be to limit your calorie intake, while making you use up the usual or more number of calories. Your body will then have to draw upon the fat stores to fill the energy gap and you would begin to lose weight.</p>
<p><strong>While on a weight reducing diet there are certain foods you must avoid:</strong><br />
1.All fried and greasy foods.<br />
2.All sweets: Honey, ice-creams, cakes, pastries, jams, chocolates, candies<br />
3.Dry fruits and nuts: peanuts, almonds, cashew nuts<br />
4.All alcoholic drinks<br />
5.Fruits: Bananas, grapes, mangoes, strawberries<br />
6.Vegetables: Potatoes and other tubers</p>
<p><strong>Foods which you can eat as much as desired without causing any problems:</strong><br />
1.Salads: Carrots, radish, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, lettuce<br />
2.Drinks: Clear Soups, Lemon Juice, Jeralee, Buttermilk</p>
<p><strong>To Lose Weight Sensibly:</strong><br />
The safest and the most effective way of slimming is to lose weight slowly. Crash diets should be avoided as they often fail. This is simply because they just cannot be sustained. Moreover, crash dieting can adversely affect your beauty, making you look haggard. An advantage of a gradual diet control, is that your taste in foods can be adjusted over a reasonable period of time so that the craving for certain food items is reduced.<br />
An average woman spends about 2,300 calories a day. If you want to reduce your weight, you should aim to eat about 1,200-1,300 calories daily. If you persistently eat about 1000 calories less every day, your body will have to make up the short fall, by using up about 100grams of your body fat daily. So in about ten days you would be able to lose a kilo of your weight. On this diet you should not expect a rapid loss of weight. It may take you sometime to lose the desired weight. Even though it would be slow, if you are steady in your diet control you are sure to be a winner.</p>
<p><strong>How Fattening Are High Protein Foods?</strong><br />
There is a popular notion that protein-rich foods are not fattening. This is absolutely a myth. Proteins actually provide the same number of calories per gram as carbohydrates and so are equally fattening. But protein-rich (and even fatty foods) foods, do not leave the stomach as quickly as carbohydrates, so they tend to satisfy your appetite for longer periods of time and you do not feel hungry quickly. It is for this reason that a serving of mutton appears more filling than a bowl of cereal and sugar, even though the portions have been adjusted to give you precisely the same number of calories.</p>
<p>However a slimming diet which recommends protein foods, such as eggs, yoghurt or fish rather than starchy and sugary foods is very likely to be rich in minerals and vitamins as well. On the other hand refined carbohydrate foods can be easily eliminated from the diet without causing any deficiency of vitamins and minerals.</p>
<p><strong>How To Cut Down On Fats:</strong><br />
Since fats contain more than twice as many calories to a gram as carbohydrates and proteins, a low fat diet would seem a very sensible way to cut down on the calories in your daily meals. The danger here lies in the fact that when you cut out on the fatty bit of your meals, you tend to feel hungry much sooner and if you succumb to your hunger-pangs, you might well end up eating more (snacks, sweets and other foods) before your next meal is due, and ruin your dietary schedule.</p>
<p>We consume a large amount of fat in our diet; actually 40% of our daily calorie intake is derived from fats. Half of this is visible as the oil we cook our food in, and the butter we spread on the breakfast bread. The other half, however, is not so obvious; the margarine present in the cakes and biscuits, the fat in a boiled egg and the cream in our morning cup of tea or coffee.</p>
